KPMG heART of HOPE exhibition will boost Adult Hospice rebuild project
FAMED Northern Ireland artist Colin Davidson will launch an art exhibition this month along with more than 100 other local artists, in aid of NI Hospice.
Northern Ireland’s largest local charity is set to benefit from contributions from a wide range of talents which include Lisa Ballard, Neil Shawcross, Rita Duffy and Joseph McWilliams, with proceeds from the initiative supporting the new £13m Northern Ireland Adult Hospice project in Belfast.
The KPMG sponsored heART of HOPE exhibition will be hosted by Crescent Arts Centre in Belfast from May 28 to May 30.
The state-of-the-art dementia-friendly adult hospice will see Northern Ireland Hospice become a world leader in palliative care, research and education.
Colin Davidson, President of the Royal Ulster Academy, is best known for his remarkable portraits that include famous faces such as Sir Kenneth Branagh, Dame Mary Peters and Seamus Heaney, said: “It is a pleasure to be contributing to such a large collection of works in aid of Northern Ireland Hospice.
“This will be a wonderful exhibition capturing more than 100 talents from Northern Ireland who have without hesitation offered up their work and talent to support the Northern Ireland adult hospice rebuild project.”
Joanna Pawson, Northern Ireland Hospice Fundraising and Marketing Manager, said: “The adult hospice rebuild project is costing £13m to become a reality. We currently need to raise £1.7m to complete a facility that will put Northern Ireland at the forefront of hospice care, research and education.
“We are excited about heART of HOPE; it will be something special to see so many different artistic talents on display.”
Jon D’Arcy, Chairman of sponsor KPMG said: “We are delighted to be able to support the heART of HOPE exhibition and play a part in this crucial stage of fundraising. For over 30 years the Northern Ireland Hospice has provided support to thousands of families across Northern Ireland and the rebuild ensures that this support will continue for future generations”.
